About   TeamVodafone 1-5th

Who are we you may ask?

We TeamVodafone 1-5th (T-EIGHT RC Race Engineering) race 1-5th scale model car versions of the V8 Supercars. These cars are true race cars in every sense, these cars are fully tunable and adjustable when it comes to setting them up for a race (See the Specifications page to compare to the TeamVodafone V8 Supercar). We regularly race at Club, State and National Events also every two years Internationally at the World Championships.  Also you will see us at some of the promotional Team Vodafone events as well.

TeamVodafone 1-5th is a collaboration between Triple Eight Race Engineering and T-EIGHT RC Race Engineering and was incepted last quarter of 2006, we (T8 RC Race Engineering) have a vast amount of experience in model car racing world. Trent Aquilina who owns the team and drives Car 888 has been racing since the age of 10 and has been racing 1-5th scale cars since 1997. He is one of the top level 1-5th drivers in Australia at the moment, he has finished in the top 10 places in most State and National Championships over the last 6 years. His highest position to date at a State or National championship is 5th. He also has been competing at an International Level since 2001 and has competed at 3 World Championships, (Germany 2001, Switzerland 2005 and Australia 2007) Trent became the Concourse World Champion in Lostallo Switzerland 2005. The World Championships are held every two years.

Car 88 is driven by Jason Clarke. Jason is relatively new to the sport but has come along way in a very short time. He has been driving now for 5 years. He has competed at many club and Queensland Championships and some National Championships. Jason regularly finishes in the top 10 at club events. Since his move to T8 RC Race Engineering he has matured into a very competitive driver and will be sure to impress in the future.

The brains of TeamVodafone 1-5th are Eden Watson and Malcolm Holloway. These guys have a background in model motorsport that most envy. Both Eden and Mal are highly skilled Mechanical Engineers and this experience shows when we discuss the setup of the race cars. Since Eden and Mal have come on board, the Team Vodafone 1/5th cars have evolved into being amongst the quickest cars in the country. 

Our other team members are Sheena Clarke, Mariah, Kassie and Shannan. Sheena looks after the business side of the team when it come to organizing for events i.e. travel and accommodation also all of our catering when competing at events.  

Mariah, Kassie and Shannan are our #1 Fan Club members. Mariah also helps with the preparation of the cars and hopes to one day race a 1-5th Scale car. Both Mariah and Kassie enjoy driving their own model cars.
